Travel Advisory – Meadowbrook Parkway Closure

Beginning on Monday, September 25 through Friday, September 29, both directions of the Meadowbrook State Parkway will be closed between the Loop Parkway (Exit M10) and Bay Parkway, to facilitate an ongoing steel deck replacement project on the drawbridge over Sloop Channel. The road will be closed between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m., weather permitting.  During these overnight closures, all northbound traffic leaving Point Lookout on the Loop Parkway will only be permitted to exit onto the northbound lanes of the Meadowbrook Parkway.

The only local access to Jones Beach and the Ocean Parkway during these overnight closures will be via the Wantagh Parkway.

Starting on Tuesday, September 26, on the drawbridge will be reduced to one lane in both directions for approximately eight months.

The electronic message signs near the bridge will display additional updates and information.
