Point Lookout Civic Membership
The Point Lookout Civic Association’s (PLCA) mission is to preserve and enhance our way of life in this truly unique place we call home. Ultimately, every neighborhood’s personality reflects the collective spirit of its residents, it all starts and ends with you. Your Civic Association is vital in petitioning our local government for projects that range from beach dredging to local street improvements. Your Civic Association organizes and sponsors Children’s Day and the fall Pumpkin Walk. Your Civic Association gives back to the community via beach grass plantings and our annual Memorial Day Beach Cleanup.
We encourage all residents to support us not only financial through yearly membership but to volunteer some time to not only the Point Lookout Civic Association but also any of the great community organizations here in Point Lookout.
In closing, we encourage you to sign-up online as it significantly reduces the administrative burden on this volunteer organization. Please also encourage friends and neighbors to join. Our strength is in our numbers, collective experiences and efforts.

- Support Town Initiatives: We strive to make Point Lookout a wonderful place to live – with your support we can continue to fund the bocce courts, movies at the beach, concerts, community garden, Children’s Day, Halloween walk, beach clean-ups & more.
- Stay in the Know: Receive email updates and get involved on Civic events, what’s happening in town and more.
Renovated beach chair shack room for more efficient use of space, as well painted entire beach shack.
Reduce overcrowing of bikes
To reduce the overcrowding of bicycle parking, a safety issue for older residents and emergency personnel, we added new cement at the back of Civic Beach near the Cedarhurst entrance for additional bike parking.
For the safety of Point Lookout residents, we worked with the Town of Hempstead to add new Stop Signs to the Lido Blvd/Freeport Ave intersection in an effort to slow vehicle traffic on Lido Blvd.
Events & Traditions
To have fun and keep our beloved traditions, we organized and sponsored the Welcome to Summer Party, the 90th Annual Children’s Day and the Pumpkin Walk.
HONORED SERVICE TO COMMUNITY
To honor service to our community, we organized Marybeth’s “Last Day Parade” and installed a bronze plaque at Civic Beach honoring Marybeth (between 2 new benches).
As part of our continuous improvement and beautification, we installed new pavers in front of the Community Garden, which was funded by a private donation.
To keep the community informed, we revamped our website in order streamline membership and share relevant information.
