Great news for walkers and beachgoers: the sidewalk east of the Main Beach entrance on Ocean Boulevard has been completely rebuilt. The new concrete is level, accessible, and ready for summer strolls. Huge thanks to the Town of Hempstead Highway crew for the fast turnaround and to Councilman Chris Schneider for securing the funding.
The Civic Association is already working with the Town on replacing the western Ocean Boulevard sidewalks next.
In addition, the Town has obtained funds to fully replace the beach-bathroom cesspool system. Construction is scheduled to begin in the coming days—we’ll keep you posted!
