The Civic Association is excited to announce the approval of new stop signs at the intersection of Lido Blvd and Freeport Avenue. Members of the Civic Board appeared at the Town of Hempstead Town Hall for a hearing on our request for the stop signs and are pleased that the town council approved the installation. Big thanks to Hempstead Supervisor Tom Clavin and especially Councilman Christopher Carini for listening to the community’s request and bringing this to a vote before the council.

It is our hope that having stop signs at the half way point of Lido Blvd will help slow traffic down and greatly improve pedestrian safety for all of us walking and biking around town. It is anticipated the signs will be installed in the coming weeks.
